About This Site
Most online MBA rankings ask you to trust them. This one is built so you do not have to: every program comes from a public list, every figure has a named source, and the model that orders them is two numbers you can look up yourself.
How A Program Gets Onto This Site
The starting point is AACSB's list of accredited business schools, not an editorial pick. AACSB lists 557 accredited schools in the United States, and each reports its degree programs to AACSB with how they are delivered and what they cost. Every school that reports an MBA that can be completed fully online is here, 327 schools in 48 states and territories, not counting executive MBAs and dual degrees. No school can be added by asking or left out by request.
Each school is then matched to its federal records, so that College Scorecard can supply what its business master's graduates earned. 286 schools have both that figure and a reported tuition, and those are ranked; the rest are listed without a rank rather than scored on a guess.
What The Ranking Measures
Graduate earnings, at 55%. And Tuition, at 45%. Both describe the graduate program. The graduation rate, admission rate and tuition in the federal education data describe undergraduates, so this ranking uses none of them. The methodology sets out every step, including what was left out and why.
What We Will Not Do
- No school pays for a position, and the site carries no paid listings.
- No reputation surveys. Nobody is polled about which programs they respect.
- No invented figures. Every number on this site came from AACSB, College Scorecard, IPEDS or BLS, and the source is named on the page.
- No filling gaps with estimates. A school missing a figure is listed without a score, because a low score would imply we measured it.
The Editor
Trevor Rupe, editor. Trevor built and edits this site: the cohort comes from AACSB's accredited list, each school is matched to its federal records, and every program summary is written from the school's own online MBA page and quotes it, so any claim here can be checked against its source. Trevor is on LinkedIn, and corrections reach the address below.
Who Publishes This Site
Best Online MBA Programs is published by Savo Media Group. Savo Media Group is Trevor Rupe and Taylor Rupe, who research and publish data-led education guides like this one. Taylor sets the direction the sites are researched and written to; Trevor edits this one and answers for what is on it.
Nobody pays to appear here. No school, no business school and no accrediting body has any say in what is published, and the site carries no advertising, no sponsored placements and no affiliate links. The ranking is reproducible from the sources on the methodology page, which is the only argument for trusting it that this site is willing to make.
Corrections
AACSB listings change when schools update them, and Scorecard publishes new earnings cohorts. Every card links the school's AACSB listing, so a disagreement is usually settled in a minute. If something is wrong, write to hello@savomediagroup.com with the school and the figure. Corrections are made to the underlying data, which changes the score, rather than to the wording around it.
How This Site Is Funded
No school pays to be listed or ranked on this site, and the site carries no paid listings. Rankings, accreditation status, wage data and program details come from official records and each school's own published pages.
