Pennsylvania has 11 ranked online MBAs at AACSB-accredited business schools,
3 at public universities and 8 at private ones, plus 3 listed below without a rank.
Every one can be completed fully online, so studying at one does not mean moving to
Pennsylvania; the state matters mainly for price at public schools, and for readers who want a
school they know or a network where they work.
The ranking is the same one used nationally: graduate earnings from College Scorecard against
the tuition each school reports to AACSB. Cards are numbered by position in Pennsylvania, and each
shows the program's national rank. Program summaries come from each school's own online MBA
page, with the date it was read. How the scores work.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)Erivan K. Haub School of Business
Online MBA programs in Pennsylvania · Philadelphia, Pennsylvania · Private · AACSB business and accounting
The MBA is built from three stackable certificates: a required graduate certificate in business administration plus two more that students choose and take in any order.
The 36-credit MBA can be finished in as little as one year; full-time study averages 1 to 2 years and part-time study 2 to 2.5 years. Students can study 100% online, on campus or in a mix of both, and the fully online option has no residency requirements. New students may enroll in the fall, spring or summer semester.
Every student completes the graduate certificate in business administration, with courses in management, finance, business intelligence & analytics and marketing, then adds two certificates in similar or different disciplines. Admission requires a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a demonstrated record of academic success, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The program is designed for working professionals, who can also stop and start, earning certificates as they need them.
Required credits range from 33 to 42 depending on each student's academic and professional background, and online courses run in 8-week terms that start five times a year.
The online MBA moves from Foundation courses (three 2-credit courses that may be waived) through a Core in marketing, accounting, financial management and business analytics, a three-course specialization, Executive Perspectives courses and an integrative capstone. Courses run in 8-week terms beginning in August, October, January, March and May, and new students can enroll at any of the five starts. Students working full-time are advised to take one course per term.
Applicants submit transcripts and GMAT or GRE scores, but the test is waived for applicants with a master's degree or higher and for graduates of AACSB-accredited undergraduate business programs with at least a 3.2 GPA; it may also be deferred and eventually waived for applicants with a 3.0 GPA and at least 2 years of business experience. An undergraduate business degree is not required. The Business Systems and Analytics specialization meets STEM requirements, and students may complete a dual specialization.
Students pick one of nine specializations, including enterprise resource planning and a STEM business analytics track, or design their own path through the Flex MBA Option.
The 39-credit MBA is offered part-time online and on campus and includes a cornerstone course on ethics and sustainability, 21 credits of core courses, 12 credits of advanced electives and a capstone course in business strategy. Most students finish in two years while working full time. Online courses are mostly asynchronous, though some include synchronous elements, and the university estimates 12 to 15 hours of study time per course each week.
Applicants need a 3.0 minimum undergraduate GPA, official transcripts and one letter of recommendation from a professional reference; no GMAT or GRE is required. Online students earn the same degree as on-campus students, with class sizes capped at 20. The curriculum applies the Triple Bottom Line approach to economic, social and environmental impact.
Requirements are identical across three delivery formats (asynchronous, synchronous and hybrid), and students can begin any semester or term with no application deadline.
The MBA is offered 100% online or hybrid and can be completed in 30 credits: 8 required core courses and 2 electives of 3 credits each, with certain concentrations requiring 36 credits. Students finish in one year full-time or two years part-time. Concentrations include Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Healthcare Management, MIS, Marketing and Supply Chain Management, and all Supply Chain Management concentration courses are offered only 100 percent online.
Applicants need a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university and submit a 500-word program statement explaining why they want an MBA. Foundation courses may be waived based on undergraduate work and are offered only 100% online. All students complete a 3-credit Strategic Management capstone after finishing at least four core courses.

People, data and technology recur as threads across courses and business challenges instead of standing alone as topics, in a part-time MBA completed entirely online.
The Part-Time Online MBA is completed entirely online and includes required coursework in finance, legal frameworks and data privacy, management, marketing strategy and supply chain management. Concentrations span emerging technology, analytics, finance, marketing and leadership, among them Applied AI in Business and Financial Analytics and Valuation, and students can also build a customized concentration with an academic advisor. Drexel moves from quarters to semesters in Fall 2027, and students starting in Spring 2027 begin under the quarter-based calendar.
GMAT and GRE scores are not required, although applicants may submit them to be considered for additional merit scholarships; all applicants need a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. The program is built for working professionals who want to advance or change careers, with team-based projects and cases that mirror cross-functional decision-making. Those who want in-person time in Philadelphia can choose the separate Part-Time Hybrid MBA.
Students can move between on-campus, 100% online and hybrid courses as they progress, in a 30-credit professional MBA or one of several 33-credit specialized MBAs.
The professional MBA requires 30 credits and the specialized MBAs 33, and students can finish in as little as one year or study part-time at their own pace. All professional MBA courses, and the core courses of the specialized MBAs, can be taken on campus, 100% online or hybrid, though select specialized courses may meet on campus; Investment Management specialization courses are offered 100% online. Students may begin in the fall or spring semester.
GMAT and GRE scores are not required, although applicants may submit them to strengthen an application, and admission is rolling. Applicants submit a personal statement on their proposed area of specialization and official transcripts from all postsecondary schools attended. The Investment Management MBA covers the investment management business and prepares students for credentialing exams such as the SIE, FINRA Series 65 and CFA level I.
Students add one of more than 30 three-course concentrations to a 39-credit core, in a degree designed around the ICE framework of Integration, Collaboration and Engagement.
The 48-credit degree (39 core credits and 9 concentration credits) is completed 100% online, with courses that typically follow a 12- to 15-week semester cycle across spring, summer and fall. Most students finish in 2 to 5 years, many taking one or two courses per semester, and each three-credit course requires approximately 10 hours of work a week. Every course includes group projects, and an optional faculty-led Global Immersion trip is offered each spring for elective credit.
GRE and GMAT scores are not required and will not be accepted, and no prerequisite course work is needed. Applicants submit two references, a resume and short essay answers, and at least two years of professional experience is strongly preferred. The diploma reads Master of Business Administration and does not indicate that the degree was earned online.
Delivered fully online through asynchronous courses, the MBA can be finished in as little as one year and offers concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Management and Marketing.
The MBA requires 30 to 36 credits and takes 12 to 24 months, with start terms in fall, spring and summer. Core courses include Corporate Accounting, Managerial Economics, Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Analysis and Decision Support, and Strategic Management, and the curriculum blends real-world case studies with interdisciplinary learning.
Applicants must show competency in Business Statistics, Pre-Calculus or a higher-level class with a minimum grade of C and submit undergraduate transcripts. GMAT scores (Focus Edition) may be required for applicants with a GPA below 3.0. Applicants should also have a business-related degree with at least a 3.0 GPA, sufficient professional work experience, or a master's or terminal degree.
Every RMU MBA degree includes an integrated online certificate, such as Business Analytics, and AI is built into the core curriculum rather than taught as a technical topic.
The fully online MBA consists of 10 courses (30 credits) in accelerated 8-week sessions, and students taking one course every session finish in under 2 years. Classes are asynchronous; seven courses are core classes in finance, marketing, analytics and leadership, and the remaining three are electives. Coursework uses case-method analysis, simulation and scenario modeling, with a capstone focused on systems thinking and strategic synthesis.
The GMAT is optional: three years of relevant work experience, a graduate degree or an undergraduate degree from an AACSB-accredited business school can be used in place of the standard GMAT/GRE requirement. Classes are kept small, students work on virtual team projects, and every student is assigned a success coach to help with registration and deadlines.

Common Questions About Studying In Pennsylvania
Is an online MBA worth it?
What can be checked is the price against the earnings. The 11 ranked Pennsylvania programs report a median $37,635 for the whole degree, and their schools' business master's graduates earned a median $94,672 a year after finishing. No federal source reports what the same people would have earned without the degree, so that is a description of the group rather than a return.
Will federal aid pay for an online MBA?
Graduate students file the same FAFSA as undergraduates and the programs here are at accredited institutions, so federal loans are generally available; grants largely are not, since Pell is an undergraduate program. This site does not model aid: the tuition on every card is the published whole-program figure the school reports to AACSB, before any aid.
What is the best online MBA program in Pennsylvania?
On this ranking, Saint Joseph's University, which is 28th of 286 nationally. La Salle University and University of Scranton are next in Pennsylvania. The ranking weighs graduate earnings against tuition, so a program with high earnings and a high price can place below a cheaper one.
What is the cheapest online MBA in Pennsylvania?
Slippery Rock University, which reports $18,215 in whole-program tuition to AACSB, or $12,659 for Pennsylvania residents.
How many AACSB-accredited online MBA programs are there in Pennsylvania?
14 AACSB-accredited schools in Pennsylvania report a fully online MBA to AACSB. 11 of them are ranked here, and 3 are listed without a rank because a figure the ranking needs is not published.
What do managers earn in Pennsylvania?
BLS puts the median for general and operations managers in Pennsylvania at $103,130, $2,640 below the national median of $105,770. That is an occupation figure, not an MBA salary; federal data does not report pay by degree.
Online MBA Programs In Other States
An online MBA does not tie you to the school's state. 73 of the
